39-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Collision near Gundry Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (June 20, 2024) – Friday night, a pedestrian accident along Carson Street left Benjamen Golonsky with fatal injuries.
The incident happened around 10:40 p.m., at the intersection of Carson Street and Gundry Avenue, just east of Orange Avenue.
Investigators say the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was crossing in an unmarked crosswalk on Carson Street. Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the deceased pedestrian as 39-year-old Benjamen Golonsky.
Investigators do not suspect intoxication, speed, or distracted driving to be the factor of the collision.
