Single-Plane Accident near Luther Pass Left Two People Dead
ALPINE COUNTY, CA (June 19th, 2024) – Thursday, a single-engine plane crash along Willow Creek killed Jeannette Singer & Raphael Jones Jr.
Police officers responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., near Luther Pass.
Upon arrival, authorities located the plane next to Willow Creek Road where they pronounced the pilot and their passenger dead.
Later, the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims as 74-year-old Jones Jr., from San Jose and 80-year-old Singer, from Lodi.
Investigators claimed that Jones Jr. was piloting the plane while Singer was the aircraft’s passenger.
At this time, the Federal Aviation Administration, the NTSB, and the United States Forest Service are leading the investigation. Once available, further details will be provided.
