Several Injured in Van Crash near East 2nd Avenue

ESCONDIDO, CA (June 19th, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, a 2-car accident on South Juniper Street sent at least thirteen people to a hospital. 

Police responded to the scene around 2:20 p.m., in the area of South Juniper Street and East 2nd Avenue.

For reasons under investigation, the driver of a white passenger van collided with another vehicle in the area. The impact pushed the van into the side of a business complex.  

Responding personnel from the Escondido Fire Department transported thirteen adults, some with special needs, to a hospital with minor injuries. 

Investigators said the second vehicle involved sustained damages to the front bumper and engine. 

At this time, fire officials and a building inspector are evaluating the structural integrity of the building.

Escondido Officials closed East 2nd Avenue and South Juniper Street as crews investigated the two-vehicle crash. Once available, more details will be provided about the 2-car accident on Juniper Street.
