1 Killed, 4 Injured in Head-On Crash on Highway 101 [Los Alamos, CA]
One Dead, Four Hospitalized after Two-Vehicle Collision near Alisos Canyon Road
LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 19, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, one victim was killed and four were hurt in a head-on crash on Highway 101.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 4:35 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway near Alisos Canyon Road.
California Highway Patrol officers say the driver of a southbound vehicle veered into the northbound lanes, colliding with a vehicle traveling in the opposing direction.
Responding units from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department declared one person dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed an adult woman and an infant to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Two others remained at the same hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The CHP also closed the northbound lanes of Highway 101 momentarily for a medical chopper to land at the scene.
No further details regarding the Alisos Canyon Road head-on crash have been released to the public. Los Alamos officials will provide more information once available.
