Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Taco-Truck on Lawndale Street [Houston, TX]
Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash near Wayside Drive
HOUSTON, TX (June 18, 2024) – Sunday evening, one pedestrian was fatally struck by a taco-truck on Lawndale Street.
Around 9:00 p.m., the incident occurred at the 6500 block of Lawndale Street near Wayside Drive, on June 2nd.
Reports indicate that a man driving a taco truck struck a pedestrian crossing the street. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
The impact of the crash caused fatal injuries to the pedestrian. Although, police officers have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, the taco truck driver turned himself in to the Houston Police Department.
During preliminary duties, witnesses said the pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. An active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
