Merida Castillo Dies in Pedestrian Collision on Vista Del Mar [Los Angeles, CA]
2-Year-Old Girl Pronounced Dead after RV Accident near Dockweiler State Beach
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 18, 2024) – Early Saturday, Merida Castillo was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Vista Del Mar.
Police officers responded to the scene around 5:45 p.m., at the 12200 block of Vista Del Mar in the Dockweiler State Beach area.
Per reports, the driver of an RV at the beach’s campground area was backing out of a private property and hit a young girl.
Responding medical personnel declared the 2-year-old girl dead at the scene.
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner identified the deceased victim as 2-year-old Merida Castillo.
Investigators claimed the female driver and the child involved were related. However, their relationship remains unclear. No further details regarding the fatal Vista Del Mar accident have been released to the public at this time.
