36-Year-Old Cyclist Pronounced Dead after DUI Crash near 88th Street
SACRAMENTO, CA (June 13, 2024) – Late Monday evening, a DUI bicycle collision on Fruitridge Road killed Jose Valladolid Ramirez.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m., near 88th Street on June 10th.
Reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle struck Ramirez as he was riding his bicycle in the New Brighton section. First responders located the cyclist lying on the road, unconscious.
Police later declared 36-year-old Ramirez, of Sacramento dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, authorities evaluated the vehicle driver and he was found to be under the influence while driving. Crews took him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. He will be booked into jail once cleared where he faces drug possession and driving under the influence.
