28-Year-Old DUI Driver Arrested after Causing Collision on Road 5 Southwest
GRANT COUNTY, WA (June 13, 2024) – Friday evening, Jesse Burke was injured and Marco Santos Cortez was arrested after a DUI crash.
Around 11:00 p.m., police officers received dispatch calls on Beverly-Burke Road near Road 5 Southwest on May 31st.
According to reports, 28-year-old Cortez made an unsafe turn onto Road 5 Southwest and collided with 19-year-old Burke. Upon impact, Burke suffered a concussion and other serious injuries.
During preliminary duties, police officers determined that Cortez was intoxicated at the time of the crash. Consequently, police arrested Cortez and took him to Grant County Jail where he faces DUI-related charges.
