19-Year-Old Marysville Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision near Leiser Road

SUTTER COUNTY, CA (June 12, 2024) – Early Sunday evening, one victim died and Kristina Ramos was hurt in a head-on accident on Highway 113. 

Authorities responded to the scene around 6:40 p.m., near Leiser Road.

Based on the CHP report, Ramos was driving a northbound gray 2003 Volkswagen attempted to pass two vehicles ahead.

However, the Volkswagen collided with a black Mercedes traveling in the opposite direction of the highway. Investigators claimed the driver of the Mercedes failed to avoid the Volkswagen on time and swerved to its left. 

Responding paramedics declared the Volkswagen driver dead at the scene. Officials only identified the deceased victim as a 19-year-old man from Marysville. 

Meanwhile, the driver of the Mercedes, identified as 37-year-old Ramos, from Woodland was transported to a hospital for treatment of significant injuries. 

Officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs to be a factor in the incident. Police are asking anyone with additional information regarding the fatal Highway 114 head-on crash to contact their offices as soon as possible.
