23-Year-Old Moreno Valley Man Pronounced Dead after Dual-Car Collision near Kirby Street

HEMET, CA (July 11, 2024) – Thursday evening, Samuel Ramirez Jr. was killed in a two-vehicle speeding crash on Stetson Avenue.

The incident occurred shortly after 10:00 p.m., just west of Kirby Street.

Upon arrival, police officers learned that a Honda Accord traveling westbound on Stetson lost control and entered the eastbound lanes.

As a result, the Accord collided with an oncoming blue Mazda CX3.

Responding emergency personnel declared the Honda driver dead at the scene. The Hemet Police Department later identified the deceased Honda driver as 23-year-old Samuel Ramirez Jr., of Moreno Valley. 

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Mazda driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. 

California Highway Patrol officers closed the east and westbound lanes of Stetson Avenue, between Sanderson Avenue and Kirby Street for investigation. Those who witnessed the fatal collision are encouraged to contact local officers as soon as possible.
