Man Injured in Auto-Pedestrian Collision near Douglas Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 11, 2024) – Late Monday night, one man was hospitalized after a pedestrian accident on Diane Drive. 

Around 10:07 p.m., first responders arrived to the intersection of Diane Drive and Douglas Street. 

According to reports, a person fell outside the back of a vehicle before being run over by another car. Medical personnel arrived and transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment of significant injuries. 

Based on the CHP traffic incident page, authorities initially received reports of a possible domestic dispute. A female was also spotted at the back of a sheriff’s patrol vehicle at the scene. 

At this time, the identities of the people involved remain undisclosed to the public. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the Diane Drive pedestrian crash.
