One Dead, Several Hospitalized after Suspected DUI Collision near State Highway 20

YUBA CITY, CA (June 11, 2024) – Sunday, Bryan Rodriguez-Duran died and Chloe Tokuno-Fraley was involved in a crash on El Margarita Road.

First responders arrived to the scene around 8:42 p.m., near State Highway 20.

Officers say the driver of a northbound white Honda Crosstour failed to stop at a posted stop sign. As a result, the Honda collided with a westbound Ford F-150. 

Responding medical personnel transported the five occupants from inside the F-150 to Adventist Rideout Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the sixth occupant was rushed to Sutter Roseville Hospital. 

One of the six patients involved in the wreckage later succumbed to his injuries. The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 27-year-old Bryan Alejandro Rodriguez-Duran. 

Emergency responders also transported the Honda driver, 39-year-old Chloe Tokuno-Fraley, to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, Tokuno-Fraley’s 4-year-old female passenger was rushed to U.C. Davis Hospital for treatment. 

Following preliminary duties, authorities believe intoxication played a factor in the crash.
