Male Driver Hurt in Fiery Collision near Gold Country Boulevard

SACRAMENTO, CA (June 5, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, one man sustained injuries in a fiery car accident on Sunrise Boulevard.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m., near Gold Country Boulevard on May 23rd.

Reports indicate that the driver of a westbound Lexus SUV was approaching a red light. Meanwhile, the driver of a northbound Nissan Altima was traveling through Sunrise Boulevard on a green light.

The Lexus then made a right turn onto Sunrise and collided with the Nissan. Upon impact, the Nissan also struck a nearby Kia.

First responders located the Nissan engulfed in flames. Investigators say the driver was able to extricate himself from the vehicle, and suffered minor injuries. Paramedics transported the driver to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
