Man and Woman Critically Injured in Rear-End Collision near Bacon Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 4, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, a man and a woman were hospitalized after a motorcycle accident on Voltaire Street.
The incident occurred around 4:36 p.m., at the 5100 block of Voltaire Street, near Bacon Street in the Ocean Beach neighborhood.
Per reports, the rider of a 2024 BMW motorcycle failed to stop on time and rear-ended a 2016 Honda CR-V that was resting at a stop sign.
The impact ejected the motorcyclist and his female passenger onto the road, while the motorcycle caught fire. In addition, the male rider suffered severe burns as a result of the fire.
Medical responders transported the 42-year-old man and the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old man driving the Honda complained of back pain.
