28-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Mirada Road
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA (June 4, 2024) – Saturday evening, Joaquin Dominik Jimenez Alvarado was killed in a motorcycle crash on Highway 1.
Police responded to the crash around 5:45 p.m., along State Highway 1 near Mirada Road.
Investigators say the driver of a pickup-truck collided with a motorcyclist in the area. However, the circumstances that led up to the collision remain unclear.
A nearby firefighter attempted CPR on the severely injured rider. However, medics later pronounced 28-year-old Alvarado, of Half Moon Bay dead at the scene.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck remained at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.
In the end, San Mateo County Officials closed down the north and southbound lanes of Highway 1 for at least 4 hours. The Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
