36-Year-Old Man Arrested after DUI Collision near Channel Street
TEMECULA, CA (June 3, 2024) – Monday night, Matthew Jackson was arrested after a hit-and-run crash on Butterfield Stage Road.
Authorities responded to the scene just after 7:00 p.m., near Channel Street on May 26th.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 36-year-old Jackson was heading southbound on Butterfield Stage Road.
As he approached the intersection, he ran through a red light and collided with three other vehicles heading west on Channel Street through a green light.
Upon impact, 36-year-old Jackson, of Temecula attempted to flee the scene on foot before he was later found and apprehended. Officers arrested him for hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
Paramedics arrived and transported four victims to a nearby hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. In addition, medics treated three others at the scene.
