Juan Pompa-Castro Dies in Rear-End Rollover Crash on Osage Street [Randall County, TX]
52-Year-Old Man Killed in Rear-End Accident near Sundown Lane
RANDALL COUNTY, TX (June 3, 2024) – Late Monday afternoon, Juan Pompa-Castro died in a rollover crash on Osage Street.
Police officers responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m., near East Sundown Lane.
Per reports, Pompa-Castro was driving a northbound 2011 Chevrolet Malibu south. Meanwhile, the driver of a 2013 GMC Sierra was towing a trailer, heading north.
For reasons under investigation, the Chevy veered into the northbound lanes and rear-ended the GMC pickup-truck, resulting in the trailer detaching from the truck and then rolling over onto its top.
The Chevy then hit the front of the detached trailer. Despite life-saving efforts, firefighters pronounced 52-year-old Pompa-Castro deceased.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup-truck remained uninjured. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
At this time, officials are working to determine further circumstances surrounding the crash. Those who witnessed the accident are encouraged to contact the local authorities as soon as possible.
