60-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Scooter Crash near Washington Street
PHOENIX, AZ (June 3, 2024) – Friday evening, Edwin Rodriguez was killed in a motorized scooter collision on 12th Avenue.
Police officers responded to the scene around 8:20 p.m., near Washington Street on May 24th.
Investigators say the driver of a westbound vehicle struck a man riding a motorized scooter in the area.
Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Paramedics arrived and transported 60-year-old Rodriguez to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
