Man in Wheelchair Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Main Street

LAS VEGAS, NV (May 30, 2024) – Late Friday morning, one man was pronounced dead after a pedestrian collision on Owens Avenue.

Dispatchers received calls around 11:15 a.m., near Main Street on May 17th.

Officers say the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup-truck struck a man in a wheelchair in the area. First responders discovered the victim who was described as possibly in his 50s, lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics transported the victim to UMC Trauma where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Clark County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased victim.

Following preliminary duties, police do not believe impairment was a factor.

Further investigation is currently underway and anyone with further information is encouraged to contact authorities as soon as possible. Once available, more details will be given about the fatal pedestrian collision on Owens Avenue.
