Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Accident near Van Buren Street

TOLLESON, AZ (May 30, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on 83rd Avenue.

The incident happened around 4:00 a.m., near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Van Buren Street on May 14th.

According to reports, the driver of a vehicle hit the man as he crossed 83rd Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with authorities. Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe impairment or speed contributed to the incident.

Investigators are actively working on the case. They will release more information as it becomes available.
