3 Pronounced Dead after DUI Crash near Milepost 492

TUBA CITY, AZ (May 30, 2024) – Sunday afternoon, three victims were killed in a two-vehicle DUI collision on US 89.

Just after 3:00 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near milepost 492.

Per reports, the driver of a pickup-truck veered off the right shoulder while traveling northbound, then overcorrected to the left before reentering the roadway into southbound traffic.

The pickup-truck then collided with another vehicle traveling in the southbound lane.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced three victims dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the FBI arrested the driver for manslaughter after a DUI investigation.

Investigators are actively working on the DUI wreck on US 89. They will release more information as it becomes available.
