1 Killed, 1 Injured in Box-Truck Crash on Montague Expressway [San Jose, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near O’Toole Avenue
SAN JOSE, CA (May 30, 2024) – Monday afternoon, a driver was killed and another was injured in a box-truck crash on Montague Expressway.
Police officers responded to the scene around 1:52 p.m., on the westbound lanes of Montague Expressway near O’Toole Avenue.
According to police, the driver of a gray 2001 Ford sedan hit the back of a 2024 Freightliner box-truck. Investigators claimed the sedan veered to the left for reasons unknown and rear-ended the box truck resting in the left-turn lane at O’Toole Avenue.
Responding medical personnel declared the Ford driver dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has not yet released the identity of the deceased motorist.
Reports indicated that another person from the incident sustained significant injuries. However, it was unclear if the patient was occupying the box truck or the sedan.
