Unidentified Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Roberta Street
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 29, 2024) – Late Saturday night, one woman was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Kansas Avenue.
Police officers responded to the scene around 11:20 p.m., near Roberta Street after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.
Investigators say the driver of an unidentified vehicle was heading south on Kansas Avenue and struck a female pedestrian at the intersection.
Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Despite life-saving efforts, first responders pronounced the female pedestrian dead the scene.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased woman once available. At this time, the Riverside Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the investigation.
Riverside Officials are asking those who witnessed the fatal pedestrian crash on Kansas Avenue to contact their offices as soon as possible.
