Solo-Car Accident near Westbound Interstate 10 Left Two Dead, Three Hospitalized

PALM SPRINGS, CA (May 29, 2024) – Sunday evening, a single-vehicle crash on Highway 62 killed Gregory Lucas Martinez and Mason Lucas

The fatal incident happened around 7:37 a.m., on the transition between Highway 62 and westbound Interstate 10. 

Paramedics declared a man and a young boy dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a woman and two other juveniles were transported to a trauma center for treatment of moderate injuries. 

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department later identified the deceased victims as 28-year-old Martinez and 4-year-old Lucas.

At this time, the California Highway Patrol is working to determine further circumstances surrounding the crash. The Riverside Officials closed the transition road for several hours to conduct an investigation.
