33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near East Rosewood Street

TUCSON, AZ (May 27, 2024) – Tuesday morning, Bobby Gordon Bowden was killed in a motorcycle accident on Craycroft Road.

Authorities responded to the scene just after 4:00 a.m., near East Rosewood Street on May 21st.

Investigators say Bowden was riding a motorcycle north on Craycroft, traveling at high rates of speed and recklessly without a helmet on.

The motorcyclist eventually collided with a westbound Honda CR-V.

Paramedics arrived and transported 33-year-old Bowden and the 66-year-old female driver of the Honda to a nearby hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, crews later pronounced Bowden deceased at the hospital.

Law enforcement stated that Bowden’s speeding well above the limit and reckless lane splitting between vehicles were evident. They found no evidence of impairment and attributed the crash to the Honda’s failure to yield at a stop sign and Bowden’s speeding.

Police are actively investigating further regarding the motorcycle SUV collision on Craycroft Road and will provide more details once available.
