Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident on Hageman Road [Bakersfield, CA]
Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Calloway Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (May 27, 2024) – Saturday evening, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident at the 10000 block of Hageman Road.
Dispatchers received calls just before 9:00 p.m., near Calloway Drive on May 18th.
Upon arrival, troopers found the man lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Moments later, the man succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Furthermore, the driver that struck the man remained at the scene and cooperated with the troopers. Investigation showed that the driver was heading eastbound when she struck the pedestrian.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
At this time, the Kern County Coroner’s Office failed to release the identity of the man. An active investigation into the pedestrian accident on Hageman Road is ongoing. Witnesses are urged to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at (661) 327-7111.
