28-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near West Port Arthur Road

BEAUMONT, TX (May 27, 2024) – Wednesday morning, Jonathan Doucet died, and Robert Cargile was hurt in a head-on accident on Highland Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene just after 8:00 a.m., on West Port Arthur Road near Highland Avenue on May 8th.

Per reports, Doucet drove a GMC Yukon north, while Robert Cargile, of Beaumont, drove a Volvo dump-truck south. For reasons under investigation, Doucet veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with the dump-truck.

Despite life-saving efforts, responders pronounced 28-year-old Doucet, of Beaumont dead at the scene. Meanwhile, a private vehicle took Cargile to a local hospital for minor injuries and attended to an injured passenger from the GMC.
