Steven Kowalczik Airlifted, Steven Perez Involved in Head-On Motorcycle Crash on Highway 2 [Leavenworth, WA]
58-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Motorcycle Collision near Mile Post 89
LEAVENWORTH, WA (May 23, 2024) – Saturday, Steven Kowalczik was airlifted and Steven Perez was involved in a head-on crash on Highway 2.
Around 4:00 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near mile post 89 about 10 miles west of Leavenworth on May 11th.
Per reports, 36-year-old Perez was driving a 2000 Honda Accord, exiting a private driveway.
As the Honda began to travel east, the vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Triumph motorcycle, operated by Kowalczik.
Paramedics airlifted 58-year-old Kowalczik, of Kent to Harborview Medical Center, in Seattle with serious injuries. Meanwhile, Steven M. Perez, of Wenatchee, did not sustain any injuries.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that Perez displayed multiple signs of intoxication. Crews later arrested Perez for suspicion of vehicular assault, and booked him into the Chelan County Regional Justice Center.
At this time, the investigation into the head-on crash on Highway 2 remains active.
