Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Crash near near South Broadway Avenue
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (May 23, 2024) – Early Saturday, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian collision on Rosecrans Avenue.
The incident occurred around 4:16 a.m., near South Broadway Avenue just east of 110 Freeway.
Officers say the driver of a vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was walking in the traffic lanes. However, the driver of the involved vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Responding emergency units declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. At this time, their name has not been released to the public.
Investigators have yet to provide additional information regarding the suspect of the suspect’s vehicle. Officials also closed West Rosecrans in both directions for investigation. Authorities are asking those who witnessed the fatal Rosecrans Avenue hit-and-run to contact the CHP at 424-551-4000.
