43-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Turner Street
HOBBS, NM (May 23, 2024) – Sunday evening, Leroy Gonzales was fatally struck by a pickup-truck in a pedestrian crash on Broadway Street.
Dispatchers received calls in the area around 10:30 p.m., at the intersection of Broadway Street and Turner Street on May 12th.
According to reports, a juvenile driving a maroon pickup-truck struck 43-year-old Leroy Gonzales in the roadway.
As a result, Gonzales was rushed to Covenant Health Hobbs Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Emergency crews shut down the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
