Two Men Injured in Three-Vehicle Collision near McViking Way
BRENTWOOD, CA (May 22, 2024) – Tuesday night, Zachary Rau was arrested and two men were injured in a DUI crash on Balfour Road.
Police responded to reports around 9:26 p.m., along the westbound lanes of Balfour Road near McViking Way.
Officers say the driver of a speeding Chevrolet Silverado collided with a Toyota RAV4. The impact pushed the Toyota into the path of a Honda HR-V, driven by a 37-year-old Brentwood man.
Responding paramedics transported a 26-year-old Antioch man inside the Silverado to a hospital for significant injuries.
Meanwhile, emergency responders extricated the 31-year-old Brentwood man driving the Toyota and airlifted him to a hospital where he was in “unstable” condition.
Following preliminary duties, authorities booked the driver of the Silverado to Martinez Detention Facility for suspected DUI. Brentwood Officials identified the suspect as 26-year-old Zachary Rau, of Antioch.
