15-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Rollover Crash near Dog Bar Road

NEVADA COUNTY, CA (May 20, 2024) – Saturday evening, an ATV accident on Hillside Terrace took the life of Nathan Cavolt

Around 7:30 p.m., police officers responded to the scene on a private property just east of Dog Bar Road.

Officers say the 14-year-old rider of an ATV was heading uphill and eventually overturned, ejecting two occupants. The ATV then struck the 15-year-old male passenger, leaving him with life-threatening injuries.

Medical responders airlifted the 15-year-old teen passenger to Sutter Roseville Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. The coroner’s office later identified the deceased passenger as Cavolt, of Grass County.

California Highway Patrol officers said the 14-year-old boy driving the ATV remained at the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The friends and family of Nathan started a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
