35-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after SUV vs Semi-Truck Collision near 10th Street
LANCASTER, CA (May 16, 2024) – Early Wednesday morning, Vanessa Vaughn was killed in a red-light accident on Avenue H.
The incident occurred around 3:15 a.m., near 10th Street. Based on the initial investigation, the driver of a northbound Ford Expedition failed to stop at a red light on 10th Street.
Consequently, the Expedition collided with the passenger side of an eastbound tractor-trailer on Avenue H. Responding emergency personnel declared the Ford driver dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased driver as 35-year-old Vaughn.
It was unclear if the big-rig driver suffered injuries from the crash. Authorities are working to determine whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the incident.
