66-Year-Old Man Killed in Single-Car Accident near Via Verde Drive
SAN DISMAS, CA (May 16, 2024) – Richard Priem was killed early Saturday morning, in a single-car accident on 57 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol officers arrived to the northbound lanes of the freeway, just north of Via Verde Drive around 4:30 a.m.
For reasons unknown, the driver of a 2015 Toyota Highlander veered off the road and drove uphill before overturning.
First responders declared the driver of the Toyota dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner later identified the deceased driver as 66-year-old Richard Priem.
Priem worked as a grip on the Fox show “9-1-1” and was a member of the IATSE Local 80 crew union.
On Sunday, the investigators claimed that alcohol was a suspected factor in the incident. Those who witnessed the solo-vehicle crash are asked to call the CHP Baldwin Park station at 626-338-1164.
