80-Year-Old Man Dies in Golf Cart Collision on Bonanza Drive

PALM DESERT, CA (May 15, 2024) – Thursday afternoon, Sam Karagavoorian was killed in a golf cart crash on Mojave Sage Street.

Authorities responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m., near Bonanza Drive on May 9th.

California Highway Patrol officers determined that a golf cart and a vehicle collided at the four-way intersection.

First responders located the operator of the golf cart, 80-year-old Karagavoorian, of Palm Desert with serious injuries. Paramedics quickly rushed him to Desert Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

Karagavoorian passed away shortly after he was hospitalized. At this time, it was unknown which of them caused the collision, and an active investigation remains ongoing.
