39-Year-Old Man Killed in Garbage-Truck Crash on Ellsworth Road

MESA, AZ (May 15, 2024) – Wednesday morning, a pedestrian was fatally struck by a garbage-truck on Broadway Road.

The incident occurred just after 10:00 a.m., near Ellsworth Road on April 22nd.

According to reports, the 39-year-old male pedestrian leaned into the roadway, and the garbage truck struck him.

Upon arrival, first responders located the man lying in the road with serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced him deceased.

Meanwhile, the garbage truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

Emergency crews also closed ddown the eastbound lanes of Broadway during clearing operations.
