77-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Big-Rig Accident near Parker Road
CASTAIC, CA (May 15, 2024) – Late Thursday morning, a male driver was hospitalized after a semi-truck collision on 5 Freeway.
California Highway Patrol officers arrived to the northbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway near Parker Road around 11:45 a.m.
Investigators say the driver of an orange Chevrolet Corvette rear-ended the trailer of a semi-truck, and became pinned underneath.
Units from the Los Angeles County Fire Department extricated the 77-year-old Corvette driver before transporting him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
It was unclear if the driver of the semi-truck was injured in the incident. Emergency crews closed at least three northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway during clearing operations.
Authorities are still working to determine the circumstances surrounding the Parker Road two-vehicle crash.
