Man Fatally Struck, Woman Injured in Head-On Accident near Westpark Tollway
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (May 13, 2024) – Early Monday, one man was pronounced dead and a woman was hurt in a head-on collision on Highway 6.
Around 6:00 a.m., police officers responded to the scene at the 6700 block of State Highway 6 just south of the Westpark Tollway on May 6th.
Investigators say the driver of a green Dodge Charger was traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes. There, the Dodge switched lanes suddenly and collided head-on with an oncoming SUV.
Emergency personnel arrived and extricated two occupants who were pinned inside the vehicles. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced the male Dodge driver deceased. Although, authorities have not yet released his name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, the woman from the SUV was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
