31-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Single-Car Crash near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (May 9, 2024) – Late Monday evening in April, Maxwell Murray was killed in a solo-vehicle rollover collision on 7th Street.

On April 1st, at around 11:50 p.m., Phoenix Police officers responded to the scene. Crews say the crash occurred near the intersection of 7th Street and Indian School Road.

Per reports, Murray was traveling at high rates of speed, north on 7th Street. He then lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a nearby curb.

Upon arrival, first responders located one vehicle overturned on its roof with the driver still trapped inside. Crews then extricated the driver, before he died at the scene. Authorities later identified the deceased man as 31-year-old Murray.

Authorities blocked all lanes of 7th Street from Highland Avenue to Indian School Road while they cleared out the scene to conduct further investigation.

Police officers have not provided any additional information yet, and the investigation is still ongoing.
