One Fatality Reported after Pedestrian Crash on Ninth Street
POMONA, CA (May 9, 2024) – Early Sunday morning, one victim was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Towne Avenue.
Around 1:35 a.m., police officers responded near Ninth Street, in the city of Pomona.
Reports indicate that the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian in the area and immediately fled the scene without offering assistance. First responders located the man lying down in the northbound lanes.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Pomona Officials will release the identity of the deceased victim once available. Authorities are asking those who witnessed the fatal Towne Avenue hit-and-run to contact the police department as soon as possible.
