Unidentified Male Pedestrian Killed in SUV Collision near Central Avenue

ALBUQUERQUE, NM (May 8, 2024) – Wednesday afternoon, a pedestrian accident on Louisiana Boulevard Northeast left one man dead.

Just before 3:20 p.m., police officers responded to the scene near Central Avenue on April 10th.

Investigators say a male pedestrian was walking along the curb and failed to maintain his balance. The man then went into the northbound lanes.

There, the driver of a northbound white Buick SUV was unable to maneuver out of the way and struck the male pedestrian. Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and officers say they did not display any signs of impairment.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male pedestrian dead at the scene. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
