29-Year-Old Motorcyclist Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near Jarvis Road

COPPERAS COVE, TX (May 8, 2024) – Sunday evening, police responded to a motorcycle accident on US 190 that killed Brandon Wayne Fitzwater.

The incident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m., April 7th, in the 1200 block of the US 190 bypass, near Jarvis Road.

Investigation from the Copperas Cove Police and Fire Departments showed that the motorcyclist, Fitzwater, was speeding in the westbound lanes and lost control and collided with a vehicle.

Several witnesses aided those involved in the crash while waiting for authorities.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Fitzwater to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. Shortly after he was hospitalized, 29-year-old Fitzwater succumbed to his injuries.

The Copperas Cove Police Department has not released any additional information, and the crash remains under investigation.
