Unidentified Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Pickup-Truck Collision near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (May 7, 2024) – Early Tuesday morning, one pedestrian was killed in a speeding pickup-truck crash on 35th Avenue.

The collision occurred just after 5:00 a.m., near 35th Avenue and Indian School on April 30th. First responders arrived to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Per reports, the driver of a northbound pickup-truck struck a pedestrian who was pushing a shopping cart on 35th Avenue. The collision caused life-threatening injuries to the pedestrian.

Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

Despite life-saving efforts, medics later pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

Emergency personnel shut down the surrounding area at the intersection for a brief time during clearing operations.

Following preliminary duties, officers determined that speed played a factor in the collision. Video footage from the scene shows the pickup-truck with significant front-end damage.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided about the deadly pedestrian accident.
