24-Year-Old Woman and 59-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after 2-Car Accident on I-90
SPOKANE, WA (May 6, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, Megan McDaniel and Alan Chang died in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 90.
Around 2:30 p.m., dispatchers received calls on the westbound lanes of the freeway on May 2nd.
According to reports, 24-year-old McDaniel was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes for reasons unknown.
As a result, the wrong-way vehicle collided head-on with 59-year-old Chang who was driving in the westbound lanes.
Due to the impact of the crash, both McDaniel and Chang died at the scene. Investigators say they were both wearing their seatbelts at the time.
Authorities blocked all lanes for several hours for investigation and clearing duties. It was reopened by 7:00 a.m., and further investigation is still ongoing.
