One Fatally Injured after Speeding Pedestrian Collision near Indian School Road

PHOENIX, AZ (May 3, 2024) – Early Thursday morning, one pedestrian was killed in a high-speed collision on 35th Avenue.

The incident happened just after 5:00 a.m., near the intersection of 35th Avenue and Indian School Road on April 23rd.

According to reports, a man pushing a cart was struck by a northbound pickup-truck, propelling the cart and its contents into the southbound lanes, where it collided with another car.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the adult pedestrian dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver remained in the area and cooperated with police officers.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during clearing operations. Following preliminary duties, authorities did not place anyone under arrest.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the crash, the vehicles involved, or the victims’ identities. Following preliminary duties, authorities suspect speeding as a factor in the collision, and an active investigation regarding the high-speed crash on 35th Avenue is still underway.
