31-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near East Via Escuela

PALM SPRINGS, CA (May 3, 2024) – Sunday evening, a motorcycle accident on Gene Autry Trail took the life of Caleb Goodrich.

Police responded around 8:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of Gene Aunty Trail, near East Via Escuela. 

Upon arrival, officers discovered that a motorcyclist traveling north along the trail crashed into a vehicle turning left onto Via Escuela. 

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, first responders declared the rider dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 64-year-old driver, from Rancho Mirage was rushed to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Investigators do not suspect intoxication as a factor in the incident. 

Authorities later identified the deceased motorcyclist as 31-year-old Goodrich, of Auburn. 

The police are asking anyone with additional information regarding the Gene Autry Trail motorcycle crash to contact the department’s Traffic Bureau at 760-323-8125.
