Unidentified Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Pickup-Truck near Ethel Way

SACRAMENTO, CA (May 2, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian accident on Fruitridge Road took a man’s life and left a woman hurt.

Police responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., near Ethel and Laurine Way shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the driver of a white pickup-truck hit two pedestrians for reasons unknown.

Reports also indicate that one of the victims was in a wheelchair at the time of the crash. Responding medical personnel declared the male victim dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed a female pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

At this time, it is unknown which of the victims was in the wheelchair. Investigators say the driver of the pickup-truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. 

In addition, Sacramento Officials closed Fruitridge Road for several hours during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal pedestrian accident on Fruitridge Road.
