33-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after DUI Collision near Crismon Road

MESA, AZ (April 30, 2024) – Early Monday morning, Christina Diamond was killed and David Lane was hurt in a DUI crash on University Drive.

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m., near Crismon Road on April 18th.

Per reports, 66-year-old Lane was driving a Ford Mustang at 105 miles per hour in the area. Eventually, the speeding vehicle collided with a Nissan Frontier, driven by Diamond.

The impact pushed the Nissan forward, as it accelerated and overturned before colliding with a nearby fence. Meanwhile, the Mustang slammed into a power pole and bursted into flames roughly a quarter-mile away.

The force of the crash ejected Diamond from her vehicle onto the road. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 33-year-old Diamond dead at the scene.

Authorities will book Lane into the Maricopa County jail on various charges after he is discharged from the hospital. They reported that his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was .23, nearly three times the legal limit. Further investigation is currently underway on the DUI crash on University Drive.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family of Christina Diamond.
