22-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Old Lakeville Road

PETALUMA, CA (April 29, 2024) – Tuesday afternoon, one man was killed in a multi-car accident on Lakeville Highway.

Police officers responded to the scene around 2:20 p.m., on the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Old Lakeville Road No.3 on April 16th.

Investigators say a 22-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry north and failed to slow down at a stop. The Camry then veered left in attempt to avoid hitting the vehicles in front, and rear-ended a Nissan.

Upon impact, the Camry overturned onto the southbound lanes where it struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on. In addition, the Nissan struck a nearby Ford Fusion.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the male driver of the Camry dead at the scene. Although, police have not yet released his identity.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported three passengers from inside the Nissan to Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Further investigations remain ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the CHP Santa Rosa office at 707-806-5600. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal multi-car accident on Lakeville Highway.
