Odessa Family Killed in Head-On Collision on 42nd Street
HECTOR COUNTY, TX (April 29, 2024) – Saturday afternoon, Hector Martinez-Olivas, Norma Marquez-Gonzales and Leo Sandoval died in a car crash.
Around 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the scene on 42nd Street near Farm-to-Market Road 1936 on April 20th.
Per reports, 19-year-old Sandoval was driving a 2013 Dodge Ram west in the eastbound lanes. As a result, the Dodge collided head-on with a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Martinez-Olivas with Marquez-Gonzales and a 14-year-old boy as passengers.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 46-year-old Martinez-Olivas and 45-year-old Marquez-Gonzales and the teen boy dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, responding authorities transported Sandoval to Medical Center Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
No additional information has been released, and further investigation is currently active.
